School uniform is compulsory and all students should be in full school uniform, worn correctly with pride. 

The aims and principles of our uniform and how it meets our legal obligations can be found in this uniform statement.

Whole School Uniform

Blazer: Black with school badge, and are to be worn every day.

Jumper (optional):  Plain black with V neck and without badges.  Sweatshirts/cardigans with logos and are not permitted.

Hoodies are not permitted.

Shirt: Plain white with short or long sleeves. Polo shirts are not allowed. Shirts should be tucked in.  Coloured T shirts should not be worn under shirts.

Tie: School design.

Skirt:  Pleated black skirt with school badge (worn unrolled with badge showing). These should not be altered in length but the waist is adjustable.

Trousers: Plain black tailored, not tight fitting. If wearing a belt, it must be plain black.

Shorts: Black tailored shorts with school badge, not tight fitting. If wearing a belt, it must be plain black. Second half of summer term only.

Socks/tights: Black, white or dark grey.

Shoes: Shoes should be black plain leather, not suede, and without coloured badges. Boots, trainers or plimsolls/canvas shoes are not allowed. Any heeled shoe should be minor in height.

Trainers must not be worn except at lunch times if using the AstroTurf or attending clubs and P.E. lessons.

Coats: Coats should be worn over blazers.

PE Kit

Students are responsible for ensuring their clothes are hung up on pegs or put in their bag when changing for PE.

Compulsory Items:

Polo shirt: Black with red stripe with school badge.

Shorts: Plain black.  Nike Pro’s and cycling shorts are not permitted as part of Knights Templar PE kit.

Rugby/football shirt: Black with red stripe with school badge – please check with your PE teacher when this will be needed.

Mid layer top: Black with red stripe with school badge.

Socks: Red.

Trainers: Must be lace-up (not Velcro). Plimsolls are not allowed.

Football boots:  The PE department would recommend ‘moulded football boots/studs and not metal studs or Astro trainers.  Please check with your PE teacher when these will be needed.

Shin pads – Please check with your PE teacher when these will be needed.

Optional Items

Tracksuit bottoms: Plain black.

Leggings: Black with KTS red lettering.

Skort: Plain black or black with red stripe.

Base layer: Black, white or red.

Gum shield (highly recommended for sports like rugby and hockey)

Hockey sticks and tennis racquets will be provided by the school, although students may provide their own. Students should bring their own towels. We very much encourage the wearing of gum shields by boys and girls for use in soccer, rugby and hockey. These can be obtained from sports shops, dentists and from our PE department.

Other

Hair: Extremes of style and colour are not allowed. If in doubt please consult the relevant Year Leader.  Hair must be tied back for practical subjects e.g. PE, science and technology. Students should be smart in their appearance, this includes any facial hair.

Make Up: Students may wear a discreet amount of make-up. No nail extensions or coloured nail varnish is permitted.

Piercings: All students are permitted to wear a single earring in one or both ears, either plain studs or small sleepers. Please note: all earrings must be removed for PE lessons and extra-curricular sports clubs and fixtures. No other jewellery is permitted.

Body, facial and tongue piercings and tattoos are not allowed.

Miscellaneous:  Hats are not permitted in school. Students are permitted to wear a matt black Hijab, turban, patka, durag where this is confirmed with parents for cultural/religious observance.

Provision of second-hand uniforms

Preloved Uniform Webshop

The Friends of KTS run a Preloved Uniform Webshop:  friends-of-knights-templar-school.sumupstore.com. The aim is to prolong the life of uniform and help families save money too! All items are washed and checked.

Most items are priced at £3, except blazers which are £5 and orders can be made online with card payment. You will be able to return an item within 7 days for a refund, as long as it is in as received condition. Please enter your child's name and form in the "message to merchant" box during checkout and items will be dropped at reception for collection. Full details are on the webshop.

If you have any unwanted uniform you are unable to pass on, it can be brought to reception and we will add it to our stock. Unclaimed lost property will also be periodically passed into the collection following announcements in the weekly bulletin. We are also hoping to do some in person sales in the summer term.
